Important Information
- Pricing rules are a percentage difference that is added to the SELL price of the product. The SELL price has already had a percentage of markup added to it by the supplier. See the example below for more details.
- Pricing rules are based on categories, which means a new rule needs to be added for every category within a feed. See below for more information on categories.
- Pricing rules cannot be applied to ingredients that are charged per ml, e.g. Ariya (Liquid Dispensary), Ariya (MediHerb), Ariya (Herbal Extracts), Ariya (PPC).
- Pricing rules cannot be edited, they need to be deleted and a new rule added.
Pricing rules do not change the SELL price of any product item in the inventory. The pricing rule is only applied when an item is added to an invoice.
Adjusted sell prices may be a few cents different due to rounding, as a percentage is being added to a percentage.

Ariya Markup Example
All items from the Ariya feeds are set to approx. 55% mark up on the wholesale price (inc GST), not on the RRP from the Ariya website or manufacturer (this is by design to ensure you are making a healthy margin and not losing money on supplement sales).
To add a pricing rule to an Ariya Feed, the category and Supplier selected need to be the same - as below.

Example
BIOACTIV HEALTHCARE 22 PURE AMINO BLEND 100G -> Sell Price = $32.30 x 1.06 = $34.22
For example, BIOACTIV HEALTHCARE 22 PURE AMINO BLEND 100G is:
Wholesale (exc GST) = $18.95
Wholesale (inc GST) = $18.95 x 1.1 = $20.85
$20.85 x 1.55 = $32.30
When you add a pricing rule to a feed you are adding a % on top of the Sell price, effectively adding a % to a %. So if you add 6% you are not getting a total of 61% mark up.
For the same example:
$32.30 Sell price from feed + 6% pricing rule = $34.22
which is approx. 64% mark up on the wholesale price (inc GST) of $20.85
Adjusted sell prices may be a few cents different due to rounding, as a percentage is being added to a percentage.

Categories
Categories are allocated to inventory items for reporting purposes. Feed items have categories that cannot be changed. Items added manually can use one of the existing categories or new ones can be added. We recommend keeping categories to a minimum for ease of reporting.
Pricing rules are based on categories, which means a new rule needs to be added for every category within a feed.
View this article to learn more about reporting categories.
Some examples:
- BioCeuticals (Aus) direct feed use 'product' as the category for items.
- Pacific Health (NZ) direct feed uses categories to group the products into sub groups, e.g. Mineral Therapies, Clinic Supplies, Nutrition (Fitness).
- Ariya (Aus) feeds assign a category to match the manufacturer in that feed, e.g. Ariya (BIOCONCEPTS), Ariya (BIOACTIVE), Ariya (ANCESTRAL NUTRITION).
